An Interview with Bee Conservation...

We interviewed our very own Scott Morton, head of sales at Bee Conservation, about his experiences in the business world and about our company. Scott has worked in sales for over 20 years, enjoying close relationships with both the public and private sector. Starting at Euromoney PLC, when he took over the sales team, he has been increasing revenues in every role since. Scott’s career progressed to him working for Dods Parliamentary Communications, working closely with the cabinet secretary and heads of government departments. 

Morton moved to Brazil and lived for a few years with his family with his work allowing him to enjoy family beach life whilst maintaining his career. Finally, he has found his home at Bee Conservation. So, here’s 10 questions that shine light on our business...

What was your first job and what was the pay packet? Washing dishes when I was 14. My first real job was selling adverts in magazines in London, I probably earned around 18k a year which was a good wage for back then! 

What is your role at Bee Conservation? My role is forging sales, growing new partnerships, and growing the company. 

What made you want to work for Bee Conservation? I wanted to do something rewarding and use my skills in sales to benefit the world. I want to improve global biodiversity and help the environment in a tangible way. 

What do you always carry with you to work? My headphones, my Moleskin journal, and my lucky stone! 

If you were Prime Minister, what would be one thing you’d change to help the business world? Remove all immigration barriers when it comes to hiring people and recruiting. 

What can you see from your office window? The beautiful oak tree in my garden. 

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career? Trying to balance my career with some intense personal challenges. 

What motivates you to keep working in a sustainable business? The feeling I get when I finally get someone to believe in our philosophy and work with us. Knowing a client is taking a step towards creating a greener future is priceless.  

If you could do another job, what would it be? A racing car driver!
